Starting in 2015, New Jersey school districts transitioned to a new statewide assessment as part of a consortium of states known as Partnership for Assessment of Readiness for College and Career or PARCC. PARCC has developed tests that are aligned to standards in English Language Arts and Mathematics that were adopted by the New Jersey State Board of Education in 2010. The following link will provide you with good knowledge related to this assessment: http://www.state.nj.us/education/assessment/.
Please make certain your child is on time for school for all of the testing days. Avoid scheduling vacation time and medical appointments for your child during the testing period. Getting to bed early each night and eating a healthy breakfast each morning are always recommended. Finally, it is important to encourage your child to do his or her best, as we know they will do.
If you have any questions regarding this assessment, please feel free to contact me or your child's classroom teacher.
