There have been several reported cases of flu, strep throat and/or conjunctivitis (pink eye) in our school setting. All are common infections for this school age population during the winter season. Please be mindful of the following protocols to keep our students as healthy and hearty as possible.
If your child should complain of a sore throat, develop a fever, have redness/inflammation/itching or discharge of his/her eye(s), a visit to your pediatrician is strongly suggested.
Please keep your child home from school if he/she:
Has a fever
Has a rash
Has a sore throat
Or is just not feeling well
Your child may return to school if he/she:
Is fever free without the assistance of medication for 24 hours
Has not vomited for 24 hours
Has been on an antibiotic for 24 hours to combat strep throat
Eyes are free of discharge and are no longer red
Energy level is strong and sufficient for active participation in school instruction and activities
Your help in containing these infections is appreciated.
